Entry of Educated and Intellectuals in Politics

By Barada Das
Cuttack,Mar30 : The BJP Intellectual Cell arranged a discussion here in the Zoom Platform on the present status of Politics in the country today. It is unfortunate that, Politics in the country is practiced by few intellectuals and educated.
The call of the day is, more and more educated intellectuals need to join in the politics. There was a time when, Dindayal Upadhaya, Atal Behari Vajpayi, Biswanath Das, Madhusudan Das and Harekrushna Mahatab were in active politics. Nandini Satapathy, Janaji Ballav Pattanayak, Saumya Pattanaika and Dr Debendra Pradhan wre in value based politics. Unless intellectuals and educated people join in politics, there cannot be growth of the country.
The anomalies observed in our social and cultural fiber can be only addressed by the careful thoughts and suggestions of the intellectuals participating in politics. This was the opinion by the intellectuals present in the webinar.
The topic of the discussion was, “ Politics in Odisha and the role of Dr Debendra radhan in it”.Dr Santosh Kumar Mohapatra, the General Secretary of “Akhila Bharatiya Sahitya Parishada’ was the chief speaker of the meet. Mr Mohapatra said, Dr Pradhan was a blame less and acceptable leader in the Politics of Odisha. Mr Mohapatra asked the present politicians to work in the foot prints of Dr Pradhan.
Sri Narayan Nayak, Dr Sanjay Samantaray, Niranjan Panda, Namita Manjari Sahoo, Subash Sahoo and Nitai Nanda were participated in the discussion. Barada Das moderated the meet. Mr Das said, that politics today is not in an honorable state.
The attitude and behavior of the politicians elected for different public posts like MLA, MP are of very low standard. This reflects their poor taste and decline in the democratic values in the country. He requested the intellectuals of the state to focus on this problem and suggest remedial measures in the honour of democracy and the country. The technical aspects of the meet was arranged by Bibhudutta Mohanty. The meeting ended with customary vote of Thanks. The proceedings of this meeting is available over the U.Tube.
