Dr B K Mishra appointed Non-Executive Chairman of IMFA

Bhubaneswar, July 31: Dr B K Mishra has been appointed as Non-Executive Chairman of Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA), country’s leading producer of ferro alloys.

Dr Mishra is a metallurgical engineer from NIT Rourkela with a PhD from the University of Utah, United States. He taught at IIT Kanpur and held other eminent positions in academia before being appointed as the founding Director of IIT Goa before joining the Board as an Independent Director in March 2024. Dr Mishra has received several awards for his contributions to the field of metallurgy, material science, and industrial R&D including the prestigious IEEE IAS Global Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to Academics, Research, and Society.

Dr Mishra’s appointment as Non-Executive Chairman of IMFA follows the retirement of Mr N R Mohanty, Padma Shriwho stepped down from the position after completing his term. Following a distinguished career culminating as Chairman & Managing Director of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, Mr Mohanty joined the Board as an Independent Director in 2005 and was appointed Non-Executive Chairman in July, 2021.
