Discussion on the Jajur Veda

Cuttack, Jul 16 : Vedas are store house of knowledge. It is heirloom of the Indian society and culture.
The 126th Webinar of the Thinkers’ Club was held recently to discuss on the importance of veda in the present context. As per this ancient text, human beings are unique creation of the God. By human beings we mean, intelligent persons capable of selecting good activities and doing the right things.
Dr Arnapurna Acharya, the Principal of the Kanyasrama, Dehradoon in Uttarakhanda joined the webinar as the Chief Guest. According to her, the saint “Bayu” under divine instructions composed this veda.
She explained that, human beings enjoy the result of their past and present deeds. The pious activities carried in the earlier lives also affect the present opportunities and sufferings. It is the desire of alllivingbeings to get salvation by freeing himself from the worldly attachments.
Jajur Veda speaks against worshiping images of the Gods. It is observed that the human beings are at present drifted away from the principles of the Vedas. They are following the customs and usages prevailing in the societies.
President of the Club, Shree Barda Prasanna Das, presided over the meet. Mr Das, in his presidential speech said, that the Guru Kula Asramas in the country need to take initiatives to publish the Vedas in simplified words and vernacular languages. The new version of the Vedas will definitely help the people of current generation.
Engineer Dilip Choudhury, Prof Umasankar Misra, Engnr Sudhakar Patri, Saudamini Panda, Binode Pradhan, Aabha Das and Nimai Swain participated in the discussions. Mr Jyoti Malla took care of the technical aspects of the meet. The next meeting of the Club will be on the Sam Veda, a creation of the “Aaditya Rishi”.
