Consulate General of India In Vancouver Showcases Odisha for PBD 2025

New Delhi, Dec 18 : The Consulate General of India in Vancouver hosted an event spotlighting the state of Odisha, setting the stage for the upcoming Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas (PBD) 2025, scheduled to be held in Bhubaneswar from January 8–10. The event aimed to showcase Odisha’s rich cultural heritage, economic potential, and investment opportunities, offering a vibrant introduction to the state for Canadian businesses and the Indian diaspora.
Consul General MasakuiRungsung delivered a compelling presentation on Odisha’s economic profile, emphasizing the state’s growing significance as a hub for trade, tourism, and investment. He extended a warm invitation to attendees, encouraging them to explore Odisha’s offerings firsthand during PBD 2025.
In a post on X, the Consulate General shared: “The Consulate General of India, Vancouver hosted an Odisha State-focused promotion event ahead of Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas (PBD) 2025, set for Jan 8-10 in Bhubaneswar.”.
The event, organized with support from the Vancouver Odiya Association, featured a display of One District One Product (ODOP) items, showcasing Odisha’s diverse artisanal and industrial output. An exhibition highlighting the state’s picturesque tourist destinations further enhanced the evening. Adding to the cultural vibrancy, diaspora artists performed traditional Odissi dances, captivating the audience with their elegance and grace.
As the countdown to Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas 2025 begins, this initiative aims to strengthen connections between India and its global diaspora while celebrating the distinctiveness of its states. With the theme of the 18th PBD being ‘Diaspora’s Contribution to a Viksit Bharat’ events such as this not only build cultural and economic bridges but also reinforce India’s commitment to engaging its overseas community.
