Guwahati, Feb. 14:Over one lakh BJP workers from 31,486 booths today took the “Booth Victory Pledge” in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the College of Veterinary Science premises in Khanapara, Guwahati. Party workers from 39 districts and 433 mandals pledged before the Prime Minister to form the NDA government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party in Dispur for the third consecutive time with a massive mandate in the 2026 Assembly elections.

The main meeting began with a welcome address by Assam BJP President Dilip Saikia, who stated that the party would place special emphasis on booth-level victories in this election. He urged party workers to carry the party’s ideology and the government’s development message to the last voter at the grassroots level.

In the presence of the Prime Minister, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma asserted with confidence that the morale of BJP workers had doubled and pledged to win the 2026 elections with a record number of votes. He also cautioned the opposition, stating that the government is committed to creating an environment where the youth of Assam seek employment in their homeland as proud Indian citizens rather than seeking citizenship abroad.

Describing himself proudly as a BJP worker, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that being a BJP worker is one of the greatest achievements of his life. He emphasized that booth-level workers are the real driving force behind the development of the people of the country. Criticizing the Congress, he remarked that it has now become “MMC” — Maoist Muslim League Congress — alleging that it has consistently supported illegal infiltrators in Assam and conspired to create unrest, thereby obstructing the state’s development.

In a press release issued from the state BJP headquarters, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan, party spokesperson Pranjal Kalita expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of the state unit to all workers who participated in the “Booth Sankalp Sabha” at Khanapara. He informed the media that the unprecedented atmosphere created by slogans such as “Once Again BJP Government,” “Once Again NDA Government,” “A for Assam,” “My Booth is the Strongest,” and “Win the Booth, Win the Election,” echoed across the venue, for which the state BJP expressed deep appreciation.

It is noteworthy that leaders of NDA alliance partners were also present at the “Booth Victory Pledge Meeting.” These included Atul Bora, President of Asom Gana Parishad and Cabinet Minister; Keshab Mahanta, Working President of Asom Gana Parishad and Cabinet Minister; Hagrama Mohilary of BPF and BTC; and Urkhao Gwra Brahma, senior leader of UPPL and Cabinet Minister. They assured the people that the NDA would contest unitedly and form the government for a third consecutive term, dismissing all speculation by the opposition.

Also present at the event were Union Cabinet Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of State Pabitra Margherita, BJP Vice President and MP Baijayant Panda, MP and BJP National Secretary Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, BJP’s North-East Coordinator and MP Sambit Patra, BJP State In-Charge Harish Dwivedi, State Organisational Secretary G.R. Ravindra Raju, and MP and State Election Coordinator Pradan Baruah, along with several senior BJP leaders. They boosted the morale of party workers who had gathered from various parts of the state.
