Amazon’s Network Expansion in Odisha Enables Up to 5X Faster Delivery Speed

Odisha, Apr 16 : Amazon India today shared the impact of its expanded operations network in Odisha following the launch of its first fulfillmentcenter (FC) in 2025. Located in Giringaput, the fulfillmentcenter offers 0.25 million cubic feet of storage capacity. The network now includes one fulfillmentcenter and one sort center in Bhubaneswar, along with 52 delivery stations across cities including Balangir, Cuttack, Jharsuguda, and Puri. This local infrastructure has enhanced same or next-day delivery speeds by up to five times. By bringing inventory closer to customers, Amazon is enabling faster deliveries, supporting local seller growth, and creating job opportunities across the state.

This investment is focused on expanding and upgrading operations infrastructure, improving associate safety and well-being programs, and developing new tools and technology for our fulfillment network. With our expanded fulfillment and delivery network in the State, we’re able to bring a wider selection closer to customers while helping local businesses reach customers across India more efficiently. We will continue investing to strengthen this network further in Odisha and across India.”
Since the launch of the Bhubaneswar fulfillmentcenter, Amazon has onboarded over 1,000 new local sellers, enabling businesses across Odisha to reach customers more efficiently. Amazon’s Bhubaneswar fulfillmentcenter currently stores lakhs of products,enabling a wider selection to be available for same or next-day delivery, while supporting faster order processing and dispatch. At the same time, customer adoption continues to grow across cities including Angul, Balangir, Cuttack, Ganjam, Jharsuguda, Mayurbhanj and Rourkela with rising demand across categories such as mobile phones, consumer electronics, beauty, grocery and personal care among others.
Amazon’s expanded operations network in Odisha is creating thousands of direct, indirect and seasonal job opportunities. These include roles such as Team Leads, Process Assistants, Fulfillment Associates, Sortation Associates, Delivery Associates and others across the fulfillment and delivery network.
