AM/NS Portsinaugurates Vocational tailoring training Centre in Paradeep

Paradeep/Odisha , July 9 : AM/NS Ports, in collaboration with Paradeep Municipality, today inaugurated a Vocational Tailoring Training Centre at Kalyan Mandap in Ward 3 of Paradeep Municipality under its CSR initiative, Project ‘Daksh’, by reaffirming its commitment to enhancing the livelihoods of local women.

The Centre was inaugurated by Shri Basant Biswal, Chairman, Paradeep Municipality, in the presence of Smt. Chhabilata Rout, Vice Chairperson, Shri Abhishek Panda, Executive Officer, Smt. Kabita Sahu, Councillor, Ward no-3 and senior officials from AM/NS India, including Shri USR Raju, Head-Odisha Operations andShri Prasanta Behera, Head – Finance.

Initially, 33 women from Wards No. 2 and 3 will be trained at the Centre, with plans to extend the initiative across the entire Paradeep Municipality in the future.While the space in Kalyan Mandap has been provided by the Paradeep Municipality, all machinery and ancillary facilities have been organised by AM/NS India. The Centre is equipped with 8 tailoring machines, including 6 manual and 2 electrical units. A specialized trainer has also been appointed, and free cloth is being provided to enable modern training aligned with current market demand.

On the occasion, Shri Basant Biswal, Chairman, Paradeep Municipality, said, “The inauguration of the Vocational Tailoring Training Centre marks a significant step towards empowering local communities with sustainable livelihood opportunities. I commend AM/NS Ports for their dedicated efforts in fostering skill development and creating avenues for self reliance.”

Speaking on the occasion, Shri U.S.R. Raju, Head–Odisha Operations, AM/NS India, said, “Empowering communities through sustainable initiatives remains the top priority at AM/NS India. This inauguration reinforces our commitment to fostering skill development, self reliance, and strongercommunityrelationship.”

Through this initiative, AM/NS Ports is empowering rural women by equipping them with livelihood skills, fostering sustainable income opportunities, and promoting self reliance on a larger scale.
