After Salman Khan, Maharashtra Dy CM’s wife Amruta Fadnavis gets Y+ security in light of threats

Mharastra,Nov 2 : Hours after Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was given Y+ security following a threat from the Bishnoi gang, similar security cover was provided for Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s wife, Amruta Fadnavis. The decision was taken after a threat perception was analysed by the protection and security branch of Maharashtra Police.

Earlier, Salman Khan’s security cover was increased from X to Y+. This means that the star will be accompanied by two armed guards at all times. Moreover, two guards will be positioned at his residence around the clock. The Protection branch of the Mumbai police took this decision after Salman Khan received a threat from the Bishnoi gang.

Under the X category security earlier, Salman Khan had one police guard with a weapon. A few months back, the Mumbai Police had also issued a licence for a personal weapon to actor Salman Khan after he wrote an application for the same and met with Mumbai Commissioner of Police Vivek Phansalkar.

Now, there will be two trained guards with Salman round the clock and also two guards will provide security at his residence. These guards have been trained in the safety of the protectee, handling crowds, detecting threats, and the use of weapons. Also, whenever the actor travels outside the state of Maharashtra, the local police will have to provide him with security cover in the place he is lodged.

The security review committee is headed by the Chief Secretary of the state who approved the security cover upgrade to Y+.
