AAP councillor Pawan Sehrawat joins BJP, says was pressured to create ruckus in MCD house
NEW DELHI,FEB 24 : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) councillor Pawan Sehrawat joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday. Sehrawat is a Bawana ward councillor. The announcement came minutes before the Standing Committee polls. After joining BJP, Sehrawat alleged that he was pressurised to create a ruckus in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) House. He added that the AAP politics was suffocating him.
Ruckus and sloganeering continued at MCD house on Thursday as AAP and BJP councillors clashed with each other and came to blows a day after the city got its new mayor. The MCD house was adjourned for the ninth time since Wednesday night and the chaos raged overnight. The House has been adjourned till Friday 10 am.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) House was adjourned for the day on Thursday as ruckus and sloganeering continued over the election of six standing committee members.
Several members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had on Wednesday night exchanged blows and hurled plastic bottles at each other in the chamber of the MCD House. Shelly Oberoi was elected Delhi mayor earlier on Wednesday.
What led to the deadlock?
Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi allowed the use of mobile phones in the Standing Committee voting. The BJP protested against the use of mobiles, saying it would violate the secrecy of the ballot. Voting continued amid ruckus in the House. However, voting came to a standstill after the 47th vote.
