A nine year old child died of malnutrition

Jajpur,Mar 24 ;  A  nine year old  tribal  boy died due to malnutrition on Tuesday  while his sister has been left battling for her life in the remote village of Ghatisahi under Ranagundi panchayat of Danagadi block in Jajpur district.

Banku Hembram and his  wife Tulasi Hembram  have  nine children.  Unfortunately, one of his two sons died due to malnutrition a few days back. Now, one of his daughters is now fighting against death. Other  children are also affected by malnutrition.

When contacted, Santosh Mishra the Additional District Magistrate of Kalingnagar said ‘ We have not received any malnutrition  deaths in Danagadi block ‘.

When contacted, Jajpur Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO), Sibasish Maharana said, “We were  treating two daughters of the couple as they are  suffering   from cerebral palsy known as  secondary  malnutrition . But their  condition became  serious for which they were  shifted to Sishhu Bhawan at Cuttack for her further treatment on  Thursday.
