A giant devil  catfish  caught in the river

 Jajpur,July 1 :  A giant devil catfish  locally called ‘Goonch ‘  was  caught in the river  Brahmani near the village Barahamapur under  Dharmasala block of Jajpur   district on  Friday   .  The  big fish  weighing   40 kilograms  amazed hundreds of people  near the river bank. 

 A   fisherman    netted the giant fish  on  Friday   morning . Initially  he  could not lift the fish  from the net. Later, he  with the help of other fishermen managed to bring the  giant  fish  to the shore.

Many locals  took selfies and videos of the giant  fish  and uploaded them on social media platforms. The giant fish was    later purchased by a man  at Rs Rs8000 in the fish  market. It is the largest fish  sold in the local  fish  market .
