Flood situation grave in Jajpur

Jajpur,Aug 4 :  Flood situation in Jajpur  worsened on   Friday as the flood water entered in many villages as the river Bramahani river breached at   Bandhadi under Rasulpur block Large numbers  of villages  of  Jajpur, Dasarathpur, Rasulpur and  Korei and Binjharpur blocks   are marooned in the flood water. Some  weak points have been identified on river banks and embankments which are highly vulnerable to breach.

Senior engineers and experts along with police force have been sent there to keep constant vigil and “  Many have been affected in the flood. We have been providing relief items to the affected people.

The officials of RWSS are providing drinking water through tankers in the marooned areas and relief camps” said Chakrabati sing Rathor   the district Collector. Many Medical teams ,  doctors and  para-medical staff have been deployed to check the outbreak of the epidemic.

 The main roads in the flood hit areas have   been cut off  at many  areas as  five feet high flood water was flowing on the village roads . Many  mud-walled houses were also destroyed by the flood which was triggered by heavy rains overnight in the area.

Large numbers of flood-affected people evacuate with their belongings as their houses were damaged in the flood water in Dasarathpur, Jajpur, Rasulpur  and Korei blocks. Hundreds  of people are still trapped in the flood water and are waiting for help, food, drinking water and medicines in the district. The big flash flood also blocked the smooth flow of heavy traffic on the main road at many places   BJD leader and Jajpur MLA Pranab Prakash Das,Social worker Taraprasad Mishra  and others visited the flood- hit villages to provide relief items to the people .
