‘Mitti mein mila denge’: Yogi Adityanath, Akhilesh Yadav lock horns over killing of BSP MLA murder witness

UTTAR PRADESH,FEB 25:The killing of Umesh Pal, a prime witness of the 2005 murder of Bahujan Samaj Party MLA Raju Pal, in Prayagraj sparked a heated debate between CM Yogi Adityanath and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav at the Uttar Pradesh assembly on Saturday morning. CM Adityanath accused the Samajwadi Party of patronising mafias (criminals) and said ‘unko mitti mein mila denge’.

Umesh Pal was shot dead at his Prayagraj residence on Friday. One of his gunners, who too was hit in the firing, died later at a hospital.

 Raju Pal was murdered months after winning the Allahabad (West) assembly seat in his electoral debut by defeating Former MP Atiq Ahmed’s younger brother Khalid Azim. Atiq Ahmed, his brother and ex-MLA Ashraf are prime accused in the Raju Pal murder case. All the accused are presently lodged in jail.
