13-year-old boy left with mangled ear after pitbull attack in Punjab’s Gurdaspur
CHANIGARAH,JULY 30: In a harrowing incident, a 13-year-old boy was viciously attacked by a pet pitbull dog in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district on Friday. During the attack, the boy’s ear was badly bitten off.
The father of the child, who was with him at the time of the incident, saved the child’s life with great difficulty, reports said.
The incident took place at Kotli Bhan Singh village in Gurdaspur.
According to the family, the father and the boy were returning home on their two-wheeler, when the pitbull dog who was standing outside with his owner started barking at the boy.
Soon after, the owner accidently dropped the dog’s leash, leading to the pitbull attacking the boy.
The owner then took control of the dog and went home, the family said. The injured child has been admitted to a government hospital in Batala for treatment.

The child is currently stable and treatment is going on, doctors said.
This comes in the wake of another similar incident in Lucknow, where an 82-year-old retired teacher was mauled to death by her son’s pet pitbull dog.
