15-day awareness programme on hygiene at CSIR-IMMT Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, May 7: CSIR-IMMT Bhubaneswar is organizing a 15-day long initiative to create awareness on maintaining hygiene. Prof S Basu, Director, CSIR-IMMTBhubaneswar, inaugurated the initiative at the Children’s park, IMMT Bhubaneswar, on May 1.

More than 150 participants including the employees, Scientists, all staff members of IMMT, their family members along with kids, the students of the RRL project School, participated in the morning march, holding placard of creating awareness on the environmental cleanliness.  The students and kids participated in Fancy dress competition on the topic Plastic Girl and Hygienic Girl.

Prof. S. Basu, Director, CSIR-IMMT, toured the campus along with the participants, chanting slogans on maintaining hygiene and telling them about its definition said, maintaining hygiene is the key for staying healthy. The prime objective of this 15-day long program is to keep our environment clean. This initiative will continue even after these 15 days. Thank you all for participating for this awareness campaign.

Under the leadership of Prof. Basu, all participants took the Swachhata pledge to maintain the cleanliness and create the awareness in the society to follow the same. 

Essay writing, Quiz, Dance singing, Drawing, Fancy dress competitions etc. are being organized during this campaign. Competitions are being held between departments on maintaining Hygiene. Prizes and certificates will be distributed among the participants on the closing day. IMMT’s co- ordinator and nodal officer Bibhudutta Pradhan, Dr Barsha Das, Dr. Santosh Behera, Dr. Simantini Nayak and their team members successfully organizing different competitions among the participants and conducting the 15 days programme which started on 1st May 2022.
