HISTORIC FIRST: Former Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi to Make Maiden Public Appearance in Northeast at Guwahati’sT Record-Breaking ‘Namami Bharatam’

GUWAHATI/ASSAM, SEP 23: In a historic high-profile development for the region, former Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, PVSM, AVSM (Retd.), will make his first-ever public appearance in the Northeast as Chief Guest at the monumental “Namami Bharatam” celebrations in Guwahati.

Organized by Vidya Bharati and Shiksha Samiti Assam on September 25, 2026, at the Shrimanta Sankardev International Auditorium, Kalakshetra, the event marks 150 years of the national song “Vande Mataram.” The program is poised to create history by setting world records in both the Limca Book of Records and the Organise Book of Record for mass recitation and regional mobilization.

Emphasizing the cultural magnitude of the occasion, Dr. Pawan Tiwari, Organizing Secretary, Vidya Bharati Northeast and Assam, stated that the mass event signifies a powerful awakening of patriotic identity and national unity among the youth of the Northeast.
