Barbil: In line with its corporate social responsibility and the national Swachh Bharat Mission, JSW Steel’s Odisha Mining Division initiated a large-scale cleanliness drive in the peripheral village of Kasira.
A dedicated team of 100 employees from the Narayanposhi Iron & Manganese Mines volunteered their time and effort to restore hygiene and improve the surroundings across Kasira village.
JSW Steel’s dedicated cleaning team cleared 1 kilometer of critical roadway in Kasira village, a stretch heavily relied upon by daily commuters and schoolchildren. Previously obstructed by accumulated waste and overgrowth, this vital artery connects the National Highway junction directly to Kasira Sevashram School, alongside the main village approach road.
Through systematic efforts; removing debris, cutting back overgrowth, and sweeping the entire stretch; the joint team fully restored the pathway, ensuring safer and cleaner access for the community.
Working hand-in-hand with local representatives, JSW Steel successfully demonstrated a model partnership between corporate entities and rural communities, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable development and community welfare.
Local village leaders conveyed heartfelt appreciation to the JSW Steel team, highlighting how the road’s transformation has instilled a renewed sense of civic pride and heightened hygiene awareness among residents.
The mega drive concluded with a united pledge from both corporate volunteers and villagers to preserve the cleanliness of the restored stretch. Reinforcing their commitment, JSW Steel assured the community of continued support for Kasira and other peripheral villages through similarly impactful socio‑welfare initiatives.
JSW Steel underscored that this effort is not merely a one‑day cleaning activity, but a reflection of the company’s enduring dedication to the holistic development of its operational peripheries.
