BJP gains momentum in Bari as Spokesperson Manoj Mahapatra boosts organisation

Jajpur: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) appears to be gaining renewed strength in Bari constituency of Jajpur district, with State BJP spokesperson Manoj Mahapatra emerging as a key force in revitalising the party’s grassroots network.

Mahapatra has played a significant role in uniting BJP workers in the region and is also credited with drawing several workers away from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), thereby strengthening the party’s organisational base. His growing popularity is evident from the large crowds gathering wherever he visits.

On the occasion of Pana Sankranti (Bishu Sankranti), Mahapatra toured the Bari constituency and participated in a cultural programme. He received a warm welcome at Gopalpur under Rasulpur block, where party leaders and hundreds of workers greeted him with bouquets and traditional honours upon his arrival at the local dak bungalow.

A grand car rally was later organised from Gopalpur to Rangiri, drawing enthusiastic participation. At various locations along the route—including Rajendrapur, Atalapur, Samantarapur, Jhalapada, Mangarajpur, Maheshwarpur, Bandhadiha, and Brahmabarada—large numbers of supporters, youth leaders, and women workers gathered to extend a grand welcome to Mahapatra with flowers and shawls.

Local leaders and supporters, including youth and women representatives, turned out in significant numbers to express their support. Notably, members of minority communities also extended a warm welcome to Mahapatra at Bank Chhak in Brahmabarada.

Political observers note that such frequent visits by Mahapatra could further consolidate BJP’s position in Bari while weakening the BJD’s organisational strength in the area.
