Shaktishree Mela 2026 Organized by the Shaktishree Empowerment Cell of Rajendra University

Bolangir/Odisha,Apr 2 : Shaktishree Mela 2026 was organized by the Shaktishree Empowerment Cell of Rajendra University,Bolangir,in the university conference hall over four days—March 27, 28, 30, and 31.
At the inaugural ceremony,the Vice-Chancellor,Professor Pradeepta Kumar Behera,attended as the Chief Guest. Distinguished guests included Dr.Pratap Kumar Dash,Chairman of the Postgraduate Council;Registrar Haraprasad Bhoi;Assistant Professor of the Department of Statistics and Shaktishree Coordinator Bishnupriya Behera; Assistant Teacher and social worker Mrs. Sanskruti Pattnaik from Pallishree High School,Sadeipali;and the keynote speaker, Central Sahitya Akademi Award-winning writer Mrs.Gayatri Saraf.
This innovative initiative by the Government of Odisha for female students was highly appreciated and considered memorable.
On the first and second days,yoga practice and self-defense programs were conducted. Yoga instructor Sarika Purohit and self-defense trainer Rekha Manhira participated and trained the students.
On the third day,Dr.Yudhishthir Badka,a specialist from the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics of Bhima Bhoi Medical College; Assistant Professor Sarika Bilung from the Department of Political Science;Dr.Pratap Kumar Dash;and Sub-Divisional Program Officer Mrs. Surabala Jena were present.Discussions were held on students’ health,hygiene, mental well-being,legal and political rights, various Odisha government schemes for women,and communication skill development.
On the fourth and final day,Associate Professor Dr.Rajkishore Patra from the Department of Philosophy;IIC of Cyber Police Station Bolangir,Mrs. Bharati Nayak; and Assistant Professor Priyanka Chakraborty were present on the dais.They delivered insightful talks on leadership and personality development,cyber security,and career counseling.
On the concluding day,cultural programs were organized by the university’s female students.The entire event was smoothly coordinated by Shaktishree Coordinator Bishnupriya Behera.Postgraduate Computer Science student Priyanka Panigrahi,along with 36 members of the Shaktishree Empowerment Cell,and faculty members and students of the university,actively participated and made the event a grand success.
