TPSODL Energises Siriguda Power Infrastructure in Rayagada

Berhampur, April 2 : TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) has successfully commissioned 33 KV Siriguda line and Primary Substation (PSS) in Rayagada district, marking a significant step towards strengthening rural power infrastructure. The project, which had faced multiple challenges over the years, has now been operationalised through sustained efforts and strong administrative coordination. This development is set to improve power reliability for thousands of consumers in the Gudari region.
The project, designed to strengthen electricity infrastructure in the Gudari region, will directly benefit residents of Siriguda, Bhurukudu, Gumi, Asada, Bijapur, Garadama, Saramuli, and Hanumantpur Gram Panchayats, along with consumers in Gudari NAC. In total, over 3,500 rural households and 3,000 urban consumers stand to gain from improved power quality and reliability.
Despite being ready earlier, the project faced prolonged delays due to right-of-way (ROW) challenges, infrastructure constraints, and local-level issues. TPSODL, however, remained steadfast in its efforts—engaging continuously with local communities, district administration, and law enforcement agencies to find a sustainable resolution.
The breakthrough came in March 2026, when coordinated administrative action enabled the removal of key obstructions. With swift execution on the ground, the line was successfully charged and the Siriguda PSS made operational, ending years of uncertainty.
This commissioning is expected to transform power supply across more than 120 villages, significantly reducing dependence on a long 120-km feeder line that was earlier prone to frequent outages and voltage fluctuations. Consumers will now experience more stable voltage, fewer disruptions, and faster restoration of supply.
Speaking on the achievement, Mr. Amit Kumar Garg, the CEO of TPSODL said: “This success reflects our unwavering commitment to ensuring reliable power for every consumer, no matter how remote the location. It also highlights the importance of collaboration between communities, administration, and our teams on the ground. At TPSODL, we believe that every challenge can be overcome when the goal is public welfare.”
The project stands as a strong example of how persistence, teamwork, and community engagement can overcome even the most complex challenges. TPSODL continues to work towards building a robust and future-ready power distribution network, ensuring that development reaches every corner of Southern Odisha.
