Odisha’s Rise as a Global Mining Power Highlighted at Odisha Mining and Infrastructure International Expo 2026

Bhubaneswar/  Odisha, Jan 10 :The third day of the 4th Odisha Mining and Infrastructure International Expo was successfully held today witnessing enthusiastic participation from industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders from across India and overseas. The four-day Expo is being organized from 8th to 11th January and is open daily from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PMatBaramunda Ground. It is being organized by Futurex Trade Fair and Events Pvt. Ltd. in association with Laghu Udyog Bharti, Odisha Chamber of Commerce, and IPICOL.

The day was graced by the presence of eminent chief guests Shri Sampad Swain, Hon’ble Industries & Skill Development Minister, Government of Odisha; Shri Manmohan Samal, President, BJP Odisha and Shri Golak Mohapatra, Vice President B.J.P Odisha.Several other distinguished dignitaries were also present, including Swami Prem Anweshi, Chairman, Futurex Group; Mr. Namit Gupta, Director, Futurex Groupand Dr. T. K. Chand, Former CMD, NALCO & Chairman of the Organization Committee, among others.

The program commenced with a warm welcome to the Hon’ble guests, followed by a guided tour of the Expo pavilions, where the dignitaries interacted with exhibitors and reviewed cutting-edge technologies, machinery, and solutions showcased by companies from the mining, infrastructure, construction, and allied sectors.

With the divine grace of Lord Jagannatha and Lord Shiva, Swami Prem Anweshi commenced the seminar, invoking blessings for the success of the Expo and the well-being of all participants.

Addressing Day 3 of the 4th International Mining Expo, Dr. T. K. Chand called upon the industry to ‘swim against the current to climb the river,’ shifting the narrative from mining’s challenges to sustainable, green, and eco-net solutions. Citing global participation from countries like China and Chile and record revenues of ₹17 lakh crore under the leadership of Hon’ble Industries & Skill Development Minister Shri Sampad Chandra Swain Ji, he expressed confidence in Odisha’s rise as a global hub for future world mining conferences, while extending gratitude to all esteemed dignitaries

Addressing the gathering, Shri Sampad Swainhighlighted Odisha’s unmatched mineral wealth and ambitious growth roadmap, with targets of 160 million metric tonnes of steel, 6.5 MTPA aluminium production, and exploration of rare earth minerals. Emphasising strengthened mining-to-port infrastructure, world-class skill centres, and industry-ready ITIs, he expressed confidence that Odisha will play a pivotal role in achieving Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s vision of Viksit Bharat and building a $1.5 trillion economy by 2037. with the Expo contributing significantly to this national journey.

Shri Manmohan Samal said, “While taking the tour of the 4th International Mining Expo, I noted with pride that more than 250 companies, including over 10 foreign firms, are participating in this prestigious event. This Expo stands as a strong testament to Odisha’s rapid growth and emerging global stature. With our abundant natural resources and collective efforts, nothing can stop Odisha’s development. I am confident that this Expo will play a significant role in making Odisha a number one state.”

Speaking about the expo, Shri Golak Mohapatra said that while Odisha holds immense potential in the mining sector, addressing pollution remains crucial. He noted that this Expo is playing a vital role in promoting sustainable solutions, thanked Swami Prem Anweshi and his team for hosting the event, and urged visitors to explore the stalls to discover innovative advancements.

Following Shri Golak Mohapatra’saddress, a felicitation ceremony was held to honour Industry Leaders and distinguished dignitaries for their contributions to the mining, infrastructure and allied sectors.

The third day of the Expo concluded on a high note, reaffirming its role as a significant platform connecting policymakers, industry leaders, technology providers, and investors, fostering dialogue, innovation, and partnerships that will shape the future of mining and infrastructure in Odisha and beyond.
