Anil Kumar Singh takes charge as Director (Commercial) of NALCO

Bhubaneswar, Jan. 8: Anil Kumar Singh has assumed charge as Director (Commercial) of National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Union ministry of mines.
Before joining NALCO, Singh was serving as General Manager (Materials & Contracts) and In-charge (HR) at Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), another CPSE under the ministry of mines. With over 35 years of rich experience in the commercial domain of the metal and mining industry, Singh brings a wealth of expertise in materials management, marketing and strategic contracting.
A graduate in electronics and telecommunication engineering from BIT Sindri (1990), Singh has further strengthened his professional credentials with degrees in GDMM, MBA (Materials Management) and PGDCA. He began his career in the materials management division of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), Visakhapatnam, where he held several key positions over the years.
During his tenure at HCL, Singh played a pivotal role in driving the company’s expansion initiatives. He was responsible for marketing of products, policy formulation, strategic planning and handling of major materials, services and works contracts. His responsibilities also included storage management, quality control of copper concentrate and finalisation of major Mine Developer and Operator (MDO) contracts.
Known for his balanced expertise in both frontline operations and corporate leadership, Singh has held critical positions in RINL and HCL, contributing significantly to materials management, marketing and contracting functions at the corporate level. He was actively involved in maximising procurement through the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), meeting MSME procurement targets and ensuring compliance with Government of India guidelines.
Congratulating Singh on assuming charge, NALCO Chairman-cum-Managing Director Brijendra Pratap Singh expressed confidence that his vast experience and strategic acumen would further strengthen the company’s commercial operations. With his induction as Director (Commercial), he said, the NALCO Board has been further reinforced.
