AM/NS India launches School Bus service in Keonjhar

Odisha/Keonjhar, Aug 7: ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India), as part of its flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Project ‘Padhega Bharat’,launched a new school bus service in Barbil, Keonjhar to provide safe and reliable transportation to over 100 studentsof Dalki, Sedding, and Thakurani villages near the Thakurani Mine area.
With the introduction of this bus service, which will run multiple trips throughout the day, students can now travel easily and comfortably between their villages and schools based in Barbil such as St. Mary’s Odia School, Guru Nanak School, Govt Girls High School, Municipality High School, Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir, and Barbil College.
The launch ceremony was led by Shri Sharanappa Kambalii, Chief of Mining, AM/NS India, and Shri Indrakant Saha, Mines Manager – Thakurani Iron Ore Mines, AM/NS India alongside other employees of the company and community members.
This marks the second dedicated school bus service by AM/NS India for students in the Barbil region. Since 2022, a similar bus service has been successfully operating between Kara, Belkundi and Barbil, daily benefiting around 90 students.
Through this expanded initiative, AM/NS India strengthens its commitment to making education more accessible for all students, helping bridge the gap between remote communities and learning opportunities.
