Mining department raided illegal sand mining activities and seized 27 vehicles in Jajpur

Jajpur, May 22 : The officials of the mining department along with the police and other officials on the last three days raided illegal sand and soil mining activities related to minor minerals and seized 27 vehicles in Jajpur district.
During the two day long raid , we seized 16 Hywas, 10 tractors and an excavator at Tikarpada, Pankapal, Debigoda, Digambarpur, Biribati, Panikoili, Jabara, Paikarapur, Katia, Jokadia, Chakua, Serapur, Brahmanigaon and Manduka areas under Tahasil of Rasulpur, Danagadi, Jajpur, Dharamsala, Vyasanagar, Dasarathpur, Bari and Darpan and handed over all the seized vehicles to the nearby police stations.
Necessary action will be taken against the miscreants as per law. In addition to this the district administration has been requested to impose prohibitory order under section- 163 of BNNS in and around the illegal sand and soil mining areas.
The enforcement efforts are continuing and will persist in the future too focusing on addressing illegal mining activities related to minor minerals in the district, said Jayaprakash Nayak the Deputy Director mines (Minor Minerals ), Jajpur circle .
