Unity and Peace is call of the day for India

By Barada Prasan Das

Cuttack, May 19 . Thinkers’ Club in it’s 5th year, 120th Web based meeting discussed on the necessity of ‘Unity and Peace’ for India.  This meeting was collaborated with the “Peoples’ Welfare Suggestion Forum” and Rastriya Hindu Board.

Engineer Dr Nanda Nandan Das, was the chief speaker. Mr Das, spoke in breadth on the need of unity in the country and which will ultimately promote peace over this sub-continent. Mr Das emphasized on the feeling of “We are Indians” at the beginning of the discussion.

He said, our country is a mosaic of different cultures, religions, casts, different colours and belong to different ethnic groups. In spite of this, we the Indians express our solidarity at the time of crisis. It was evident in the freedom struggle of 1947, Indo China war of 1962 and Indo Pak war of 1971.

It is a matter of concern that, our unity is need based and not observed in normal days. A welfare government, need to discipline its’ subjects by giving lessons on morality, loyalty to the nation and the country. The Government needs radical changes in the existing education system.

The Government should take necessary steps to train the people for earning their livelihood. We have ample natural resources like water, forests, mines and an army of man power. These resources need to be harnessed for common good.

Mr Das said, the zest of all religions is to foster human qualities among its’ followers. No religion wants slaying of people and promotes unethical practices. The countries, who adopted rationalism are prosperous and peaceful at present.

Those countries considered  religion above everything are practically in primitive states of the civilization. Mr Das suggested that, as  per our constitution, there should not be any discrimination among the citizens.

Irrespective of their religion, they should enjoy equal privilege available to others. It was a lively meeting with good participation from the intellectual audience.
