VIGYAN RATH LAUNCHED BY CSIR-IMMT TRAVELLED ACROSS ODISHA TO PROMOTE SCIENCE AND INNOVATION

Bhubaneswar, Feb 25 : Vigyan Rath, a mobile science exhibition promoting the One Week One Theme (OWOT) research initiative by CSIR-IMMT, Bhubaneswar, travelled across Odisha from 19th to 22nd February to raise awareness about scientific research in Mining, Minerals, Metals, and Materials (4M), encouraging employment, start-ups, MSMEs, and collaboration between researchers and industries.
The Vigyan Rath, visited educational and research institutions such as ICT-Mumbai – IOC-Bhubaneswar, ABIT Cuttack & DRIEMS University, Cuttack, Rajsunakhala College, Nayagarh; Paramananda Mahavidyalay, Bolgarh, Khorda; Kridashpur High School, Nayagarh; Kunjabihari Girls High School, Kantilo, Mohan Goswami Govt. UP School, Janhikuda; Charchika Upper Primary School, Garabai, Krushna Prasad; Chilika Nodal UP School, Nuapada, Puri, Madhab Samanta Singhar Vidyapeeth, Joranda, Athagarh, Cuttack; Saranda Vidyapeeth, Subarnapur, Banki, Cuttack; Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kirikicha, Badamba, Cuttack; Ragadipada & Maa Bhatarika Temple, Badamba, Cuttack. The Vigyan Rath received an overwhelming response from the local students and public creating a major impact in the field of science and technology.
Scientists, technical staff, and students engaged with the public, highlighting the significance of research in the 4M domain. The event also included inaugurations of the AROGYAM health center, RP Das Centre for Hydro Bio & Electrometallurgy, Additive & Specialty Chemicals Lab, and the Solar Photo-Reactor Pilot Plant. Foundation stones were laid for the Platinum Group of Elements (PGE) Pilot Plant and the Solvent Extraction Pilot Plant for Rare Earth Element Separation.
