BLOOD DONATION CAMP BY ALL ODISHA CONTRACTORS’ WELFARE ASSOCIATION (AOCWA) AND THE ALL-ODISHA CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION (AOCA)IN HONOR OF PULWAMA MARTYRS

Bhubaneswar, Feb 20 :  The All-Odisha Contractors ’ Welfare Association (AOCWA) and the All-Odisha Contractors Association (AOCA), in association with the Indian Red Cross Society, successfully organized a Blood Donation Camp at The Institution of Engineers, Unit 4, Bhubaneswar to commemorate the brave hearts of the Pulwama Martyrs’ Day. A total of 200 units of blood were collected in this camp.

The event witnessed an overwhelming response from volunteers, donors, and dignitaries who came forward to pay tribute to the martyrs by donating blood. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Krushna Chandra Mohapatra, Hon’ble Minister of Housing & Urban Development, in the presence of Shri Babu Singh, Hon’ble MLA –Ekamra, Sri Irasis Acharya, Hon’ble MLA, Bhatli, Shri Priyadarshi Mishra, Ex-MLA, Bhubaneswar North, Shri Jagannath Pradhan, Chief Advisor, AOCWA, Dilip Kumar Jena, General Secretary, AOCWA and Jagdish Patra, President, AOCWA participated in the programme.

Dr. Krushna Chandra Mohapatra emphasized the importance of such initiatives, stating, “Blood donation is one of the greatest acts of kindness. I appreciate the efforts of AOCWA, AOCA, and the Red Cross Society in organizing this meaningful event in memory of our martyrs.”

The camp saw active participation from various individuals, including engineers, contractors, students, and general citizens, with many donating blood for the first time. Shri Babu Singh, Hon’ble MLA – Ekamra, also extended his support, adding, “This blood donation camp is not just a tribute but also a reminder that we must always be ready to serve our nation in every possible way.”

Shri Irasis Acharya, Hon’ble MLA, Bhatli, commended the enthusiasm of the donors and volunteers, urging for more such initiatives in the future. Shri Priyadarshi Mishra, Ex-MLA, Bhubaneswar North, echoed similar sentiments, stating, “This event has set an example of how we can channel our patriotism into meaningful actions.”

The event concluded with a solemn moment of silence for the Pulwama martyrs, followed by certificates of appreciation presented to the donors. The success of this camp reinforced the commitment of AOCWA and AOCA towards social welfare and national service.
