Bhubaneswar, Nov. 22: This year’s Baliyatra in Cuttack, a grand celebration of Odisha’s maritime legacy, is also a hub of innovation, thanks to a unique pavilion by GRIDCO, the state’s Renewable Energy Nodal Agency. With a compelling blend of advanced exhibits, interactive activities, and live discussions, the renewable energy pavilion is pulling in crowds of youngsters, children, and families eager to learn about sustainable energy solutions and Odisha’s green ambitions.

The pavilion doesn’t just inform—it inspires, offering a window into how renewable energy can reshape lives and power a cleaner, more sustainable Odisha.

Immersive Exhibits Showcasing Tomorrow’s Technologies

At the heart of the pavilion are models that bring renewable energy concepts to life. A Green Hydrogen Plant model demonstrates the revolutionary potential of hydrogen energy for industries and transportation. Visitors are drawn to the hydrogen-powered vehicle display, which envisions a future where cars and buses emit only water vapor, making clean mobility a reality.

Equally impressive is the PMSURYAGHAR Scheme model, educating households on the benefits of installing solar systems with Net-metering technology to drastically reduce electricity bills. Nearby, a Wind Energy Model provides insights into harnessing wind power for round-the-clock electricity generation.

These visually engaging exhibits highlight Odisha’s commitment to renewable energy development, blending technology with education to leave a lasting impression on visitors.

Engaging the Public Through Innovation

A highlight of the pavilion is a newly developed mobile app designed to simplify solar energy adoption for households. The app allows users to estimate solar power plant capacity based on their available rooftop space and electricity needs, offering financial projections, subsidy details, and information on carbon emission reduction. It’s a practical tool that empowers individuals to take the first step toward renewable energy adoption.

Adding an interactive twist, the pavilion hosts daily quiz sessions that test knowledge about renewable energy while offering attractive prizes. These sessions are a hit among schoolchildren and students, creating an engaging way to spread awareness and cultivate interest in sustainability.

A Platform for Dialogue and Investment

The pavilion is also a hub for serious conversations about Odisha’s renewable energy future. Technical sessions, featuring GRIDCO officials, industry experts, and investors, shed light on the state’s renewable energy policies and vast potential. These discussions focus on attracting investments and fostering collaborations, ensuring Odisha remains a key player in India’s green energy movement.

“Renewable energy isn’t just about technology; it’s about empowering people,” said a GRIDCO official. “Through platforms like Baliyatra, we aim to connect with communities, spark curiosity, and inspire action towards a sustainable future.”

Inspiring a Greener Tomorrow

Beyond its exhibits and activities, the pavilion symbolizes a larger mission: to pave the way for a future where clean energy solutions are accessible to all. Visitors leave not just with new knowledge but with a sense of possibility—how their small steps today can contribute to a larger, greener transformation.

By turning the Baliyatra pavilion into a vibrant educational experience, GRIDCO has ensured that its message resonates with people of all ages. The initiative captures the spirit of the fair: celebrating heritage while embracing the promise of a sustainable, innovative future.
