5 dead after private chopper crashes near Bhagirathi River in Uttarakhand

UTTARAKHAND,MAY 8 : Five people died, and two others were injured after a private chopper, heading towards Gangotri, crashed in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district around 9 AM.
Local residents and police reached the site soon after the crash. According to initial reports, around seven passengers were on board, and two individuals have been reported injured.
In response, police, army personnel, disaster management QRT, a Team 108 ambulance, the BDO of Bhatwari, along with the revenue team, have been dispatched to the location.

Garhwal Divisional Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey confirmed the news of a helicopter crash near Ganganani in Uttarkashi district, news agency ANI reported.
“Administration and relief teams are present at the helicopter crash site,” he said.
