Driver and helper killed  in road accident

Jajpur,Apr 5 ;  Two persons were killed in the wee hours of Wednesday after an iron -rod  laden trailer dashed  into the rear of a stationary truck on the National Highway No. 16 at  Balukhai Chhack under Dharamshala police station  in Jajpur district.

The accident took place at around 5.00 am  when a trailer  hit a truck from behind. As a result, the front cabin of the trailer caught fire and the driver  succumbed to his burn injuries on the spot. The helper of the trailer also sustained serious burn injuries and  he also succumbed to his  burn injuries on his way to the hospital.   Fire Services from Chandikhol rushed to the spot and doused the blaze.  The identity of  both the deceased is yet to be ascertained, said Rakesh Tripathy, the IIC of Dharmasala police station.

 Police seized both the vehicles and sent  the  bodies  to the district government hospital at Jajpur  for autopsy, added the police officer.
