‘Corruption worth Rs 48,20,69,00,00,000’: BJP releases Episode 1 of ‘Congress Files’

NEW DELHI,APR 2: Amid the ongoing slugfest between the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over slew of issues, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday released a video named Congress Files, a video series which alleges rampant corruption under the UPA government.

In the video, the saffron party recalled the “corruption cases” that were unearthed during the ten years of UPA rule between 2004-2014.

Calling the ten years of UPA tenure a lost decade, the BJP claimed that corruption of Rs 48,20,69,00,00,000 took place during Congress rule in the last 70 years of its governance.

The Party also attacked former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, alleging him of allowing corruption and calling him a “Mauni Baba”.

The party explained how the massive amount could have been used for the nation’s progress and elaborated on the purchasing power of 48,20,69 crore.

It claimed that the amount could have been used for purchasing 24 INS Vikrant, 300 Rafale jets, and executing 1,000 Mangal Missions.

The party said part one was just the trailer of Congress’s corruption, as the movie remains.

A few days ago, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing the BJP stalwart of heading an alliance of corrupt individuals while setting central agencies after opposition leaders.

In a series of tweets, Kharge repeated Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s charge against billionaire Gautam Adani’s shell companies and questioned who had invested Rs 20,000 crore in them.
