Bhubaneswar, June 1: 5T secretary V K Pandian on Thursday visited the under-construction Baramunda Inter-State Bus Terminal and reviewed the progress of the work.

After visiting the construction site, Mr. Pandian watched a video presentation of the entire construction work and discussed.

It is worth noting that Bermuda Bus Terminal is Odisha’s first global transit system in the capital Bhubaneswar. It has a capacity of 2000 buses per day with all modern facilities. The terminal is being built on an area of 11 acres at a cost of Rs 180 crore, while there is another 4 acres of land for future expansion.

It will have a food court, Excavator, Elevator, ample car parking facility, Pick-Up and Drop-Off facility for passengers. Along with this, there will also be facilities for prepaid autorickshaws, taxis, taxi aggregators like Ola, Uber etc. The entire terminal will be powered by solar energy. It also has Wi-Fi and waste water treatment system. Ahar Plus center will also be set up there for the convenience of emergency passengers. Steps will also be taken for the relocation of the vendors who have been relocated for the conversion of the bus terminal.

During this review, Transport Commissioner Mr. Amitabh Thakur, BDA Vice Chairman Mr. Balbant Singh, BMC Commissioner Mr. Vijay Amritraj Kulange, Bhubaneswar DCP Mr. Prathik Singh were prominently present.

From here, buses will be operated to many important places in the country including Visakhapatna, Hyderabad, Raipur, Ranchi, Kolkata and Bengaluru.
