Police busted fake cement manufacturing unit – four arrested

JAJPUR,JUNE 25 : Police in Jajpur district on Saturday  unearthed a fake cement manufacturing factory in a   godown  at Golagaon village under Kalinganagar police station .

Four persons including the supervisor of the factory  have  been arrested in this case.

The police seized 200  filled cement bags of  Ultratech   brand  from a truck  near the godown.   The factory was manufacturing cement for brands like Ultratech and other brands. 

 Acting on a tip off  ,  police conducted a raid in the godown y when the workers were loading the cement bags in a truck, meant for delivering the consignment, said the IIC of Kalinganagar police station, Priyabrat Rout.

Cement of many  reputed brands was being mixed with damaged cement, other raw materials and repackaged with logos of known cement brands and sold. The police have also recovered the machines used for the mixing of the cement and packaging of bags.  After making fake cement , they   would sell counterfeit cement in the market. The buyers were happy to get the cement at lesser rates, added the police officer.

During investigation, we came to know that the godown was previously used as a rice mill. But the rice mill has been closed for the last two years. Police are interrogating  all the four arrested persons. More persons will be arrested in this case soon. Police are investigating the case, added the police officer.
