By Sudam Patra

Balasore, June 25: Odisha’s school and mass education minister Samir Ranjan Dash is a different and dynamic person. This is why he retained his position as well as his portfolio in the state council of ministers in the recent massive reshuffle exercise.

A restless person as he is, the minister always makes efforts to galvanise his ministry. His efforts are yielding results as already two lakh students have returned to government schools from private schools.

Chief minister Naveen Patnaik appears to be quite happy with the performance of Mr Dash as he proactively works beyond the working hours to see that the standard of education gets improved.

On Saturday, Mr Dash visited Balasore with the same mission of ensuring good education to the students. He paid surprise visits to some schools and interacted with the students.

At one school, he found the students were fumbling to correctly recite table three numbers, which is in Odia called Panikia. He asked the school authorities to ensure that the students learn the tables in at least 15 days.

In the morning, the minister was seen moving in shorts and t-shirt like an ordinary people and sipping tea with the common people.

In fact, Samir with his surprising visits and  hard work has activated the school and mass education department and brought a number of reforms in the system.
