YouTuber couple arrested after they surrendered before the forest officials

Jajpur,Mar 28 : Popular YouTuber Monalisa Bhadra and her husband Badrinarayan Bhadra were arrested on Thursday after they surrendered before the forest officials in the forest range office at Jajpur Road in Jajpur district.
On Sunday the forest officials filed a case against them on the alleged charge of posing themselves with wild animals on social media platforms.
Earlier, a team of Forest personnel raided their house on Monday. But we could not nab them as the couple fled from their house at Jahala village under Sadar police station. However , the couple surrendered before us on Thursday for which they were arrested under the sections of 9,39 and 51of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 , said Jyoti Ranjan Mohapatra the Forest Range Officer of Jajpur Road.
It may be recalled that the state government has recently warned of serious action leading to imprisonment for people taking photographs or selfies with wild animals and posting it on social media platforms under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.
