Odisha/Jajpur, Mar 20 : Writer Taraprasad Mishra and Writer Rachita Mishra on Monday greeted people the occasion of ‘Pakhala Dibasa’.
Sharing a 35-second-long video on Twitter Taraprasad and Rachita said, “ Pakhala is my favorite.” Pakhala is a delicious Odia delicacy consisting of cooked rice washed or lightly fermented in water.
And every year this famous dish is celebrated by food-lovers across the world as World Pakhala Divas. Pakhala Dibasa or Pakhala Day is celebrated on March 20 every year by Odia people across the globe to promote ‘Pakhala’, an Odia cuisine, consisting of cooked rice washed or lightly fermented in water. Pakhala, a traditional Odia dish, is prepared by mixing rice with water and keeping it overnight. It is mostly served with roasted vegetables like potato, brinjal, badi, saga bhaja.
