Truck driver arrested for ‘intentional’ hit-and-run that left  mother and daughter  dead

Jajpur , Aug 4: Police have arrested on Thursday a driver of the truck  in the  hit-and-run case which left  a 45 year old Sritika Chakarborti and her 26 year old daughter Sonali of Sukinda dead at Barada Check under  Jenapur police station .  Both  were returning to their house at Sukinda on the bike.

Earlier police thought it was an  accidental death. But during the investigation, it was found the driver of the truck intentionally hit  them on the highway as both the deceased had  a heated  argument with the driver at Barua Chhack on the highway as he  passed lewd comments against them  .  We arrested the driver Amar Swain of Totakana village under Dharmasala police station  under section- 302 (murder) of IPC. We are investigating the case, said the IIC of Jenapur police station, Umakant Nayak.
