TPNODL Celebrates Linemen Day with Joy and Gratitude
Honouring the Dedication and Work Ethics of Linemen

Balasore, March 6 : TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL) marked Linemen Day with joy and heartfelt appreciation for the hardworking linemen who form the backbone of the power distribution system. Celebrations took place across various locations, with CEO Mr. Dwijadas Basak overseeing the event in Balasore. In Jaleswar, the program was led by Chief Commercial Joydip Roy, while Chief Operations Nilesh Potphode led the celebration in Joda. Engineer-in-Chief Sarat Chandra Mahallik guided the event in Soro and Chief Project Pradeep Kumar Mohanty and Chief Engineer Rajeev Nayak took charge in Bhadrak. Other senior officials of TPNODL were present at different locations to oversee proceedings.
Linemen play a crucial role in ensuring reliable power supply at the grassroots level, often under challenging conditions. CEO Mr. Basak emphasized their significance during the 54th National Safety Week, which is being celebrated from March 4 to 10. “Linemen are the unsung heroes of the power sector. Their bravery, work ethic, and dedication ensure that power reaches every home and business,” he said. He also reminded all linemen to strictly adhere to safety protocols while working.
The day saw more than 10,000 linemen participating in various division-level programs, including competitions and cultural activities. Awareness campaigns and poster rallies were organized to further highlight safety and the importance of linemen’s work.
In Balasore, the celebration was graced by key TPNODL officials, including CFO Siladitya Sengupta, HR Head Ramendra Banik, Superintendent Engineer, Balasore Sidharth Shankar Rai, Executive Engineers Debashis Puhana and Jitendra Behera, Safety Head Tapan Kumar Patra and PRO Chittaranjan Pradhan.
TPNODL always ensures that linemen have access to the necessary safety equipment, including shoes, jackets, helmets, gloves, neon testers, safety belts, and ladders. The safety of its employees has always been a top priority for TPNODL.
The celebration of Linemen Day is a small yet meaningful gesture to recognize the tireless efforts of linemen whose commitment ensures that power continues to flow without interruption across Northern Odisha.
