Tina Ambani appears before Enforcement Directorate in forex violation case

MUMBAI,JULY 4: Tina Ambani, industrialist Anil Ambani’s wife and veteran Bollywood actress, appeared before the Enforcement Directorate today in connection with an alleged foreign exchange rules violation case, a day after her husband recorded his statement in the case registered under various sections of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).

Earlier, Anil Ambani appeared before the central agency on Monday in Mumbai’s Ballard Estate area to record his statement in the case. Ambani had earlier appeared before the Enforcement Directorate in 2020 in connection with the Yes Bank loan kickbacks case in which the bank’s co-founder Rana Kapoor was arrested.

Details regarding the case in which Ambani has appeared are yet to be ascertained.

In September last year, the Bombay High Court gave some relief to Ambani in a Rs 420 crore tax evasion case as it asked the Income Tax department not to take any coercive action against Anil Ambani.
