JODA: GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY OF SUNA RIVER BRIDGE BY TATA STEEL

Joda, Oct. 21: With an objective to provide better commuting facility to the residents of Keth Hutting and nearby villages, Tata Steel is constructing a bridge over Suna river connecting Bichakundi with Keth Hutting.
The groundbreaking ceremony of the bridge organised on Thursday was graced by Smt Minakshi Mahanta, Hon’ble MLA, Champua as Chief Guest and Mr Pratap Pritimaya, OAS (S), Sub-Collector, Champua as Guest of Honour along with Mr Jagannath Hanuman(OAS),Block Development Officer (BDO), Joda, Mr Atul Kumar Bhatnagar, General Manager (OMQ Division), Tata Steel and Mr Rajesh Kumar, Chief (Joda), Tata Steel.
Among others present on the occasion were Mr Jatish Chandra Naik, Sarpanch, Roida, Ms Tulsi Bobanga, Samiti Sabhya, Roida, Ms Mita Munda, Sarpanch, Jalahari, Ms Savitri Munda, Samiti Sabhya, Jalahari, Ms Sujata Hembram, Sarpanch, Jurudi, Ms Indira Patra, Samiti Sabhya, Jurudi, and Mr Manmodh Oraon, Ex-Sarpanch, Roida along with senior officials of Tata Steel, Union officials and officials of Tata Steel Foundation.
The bridge will be65 ft long and 14 ft width allowing movement of light motor vehicles which was earlier not possible. The construction of the bridge will start with immediate effect and will complete within next few months.
It may be noted here that through Tata Steel Foundation (TSF), the CSR wing of Tata Steel, the company has undertaken various developmental initiatives towards socio-economic development of the people in the peripheral areas of its operations, focusing on health, education, infrastructure development, livelihoods, skill upgradation and women empowerment among others. Infrastructure being a very crucial sector for the overall development of any country, the company has undertaken many infrastructure development initiatives in the region in the recent past including construction of community centres, deep bore wells, boundary wall of Women’s College, Joda, etc. This is yet another infrastructure development project of the company for the community.
