Regional consultation workshop for Odisha Vision 2036 & 2047 held in Koraput

High-quality proposals received, says minister Suresh Pujari

Koraput, May 16: A regional-level consultation workshop for the ambitious Odisha Vision 2036 and 2047 was held at the Local Capacity Building Training Center in Koraput on Thursday. The event witnessed the participation of key government officials, public representatives, and stakeholders from various sectors, with the aim of charting a roadmap for a developed Odisha and a developed India.
State Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, who graced the occasion, expressed his satisfaction over the quality of proposals received from the Koraput region. “Very high-quality proposals have been presented, reflecting the aspirations and potential of the people of this region,” the minister remarked.
The consultation workshop is part of a series of regional dialogues being organized across the state to gather public input for the vision documents. “The final draft of Odisha Vision will be shaped after incorporating suggestions from citizens, experts, and institutions,” Minister Pujari informed.
Additional Principal Secretary, Forest and Home Department, Satyabrat Sahu underlined the importance of balancing development with ecological sustainability. He emphasized that Odisha can emerge as a leader in national progress by harmonizing nature and growth.
Southern Revenue Commissioner Rupa Roshan Sahu presented a detailed vision document covering 27 key chapters, which include proposals on comprehensive economic progress, enhancing farmers’ and livestock farmers’ income, promoting fisheries and aquaculture, ensuring water security, boosting livelihoods, creating non-farm employment, ensuring nutritional security, leading in sports and wellness, and making Odisha a global hub for education, skills, and tourism.
The vision also focuses on clean, digital, and citizen-centric governance, disaster management, women-led development, research-driven financial policies, energy sustainability, and urbanization as engines of growth.
Among the prominent attendees were School and Mass Education Minister Nityanand Gand, Transport and Mines Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, Fisheries and Livestock Minister Gokulanand Mallick, Nabarangpur MP Balabhadra Majhi, Koraput MLA Raghuram Machha, Laxmipur MLA Pabitra Saunta, and Digapahandi MLA Sidhant Mohapatra.
District-level officials including Malkangiri District Magistrate Ashish Ishwar Patil, Nabarangpur District Magistrate Dr. Subhankar Mohapatra, Koraput SP Rohit Verma, and Koraput Municipal Council Chairman Lalat Ranjan Sethi were also present. Noted weightlifter and Arjuna Awardee K. Ravi Kumar attended the event, adding significance to the discussions on sports and wellness.
The consultation also connected district magistrates of Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, and Rayagada through virtual conferencing. Koraput District Collector V. Kirti Wasan coordinated and managed the event, while Additional District Collector Devi Prasad Mohanty proposed the vote of thanks.
The workshop was actively participated by Planning and Monitoring Deputy Director Surya Kant Behera, Koraput ITDA Project Administrator Snehaprabha Majhi, Deputy District Collector Premlal Hial, and DUDA Project Director Tapan Kumar Nayak.
Minister Pujari lauded the successful completion of the workshop and the enthusiastic participation of stakeholders, reiterating the government’s commitment to an inclusive, people-driven development strategy for the state.
