Rayagada: Koraput MP Saptagiri Ulaka meets ECoR GM on railway development

Rayagada, Sept. 3: Koraput Lok Sabha member Saptagiri Ulaka recently met East Coast Railway general manager (GM) Parmeshwar Funkwal and other officials at his office in Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar and discussed various projects, including Gunupur-Therubali railway line, Rayagada Railway Division, Station developments, RUBs, New Trains and stoppages.

He conveyed GM, ECoR to leverage him for any escalations, support for speedy completion of all projects.

Some Key points of discussion:

– Pressed on the need to expedite land acquisition as Jeypore-Malkangiri/Nabarangpur is delayed due to slow progress.

– Quarterly review of Gunupur-Therubali Railway & Rayagada Division. Railways should send senior officials in DISHA meetings

– Padmapur to be included in Gunupur-Therubali railway line project.

– Expedite Gopalpur – Padmapur – Gumada (AP) Railway Line Project with Gunupur being Junction for both railway lines. Submit DPR

– Expedite Gopalpur – Rayagada Railway line Project, submit DPR

– Facilitate in increasing the speed of trains in Naupada- Gunupur Stretch including creation of loop lines in the Stretch. Double lining

– Facilitate in increasing the speed of trains in Rayagada-Koraput Stretch, now it takes 3.5 Hours

– New Daytime trains from Jagadalpur to Bhubaneswar via Koraput/Rayagada

– Station developments – Rayagada, Koraput, Jeypore, Gunupur, Ambadola, Muniguda

– RUBs & Railway overbridge at various locations

– Extension of trains to Koraput Parliament Segment

– Rayagada Railway Division – DRM to be appointed urgently or OSD to start up and overlook operational activities

– Train Stoppages at various stations like pre Covid times

– Railway Concessions to Senior Citizens and Journalists

– Work with District Administration in exchanging key lands for Overall development. Win win for both.
