PW (PhysicsWallah) enhances the students lives with better learning experiences by  aquihiring FREECO

New Delhi,Aug 19: PW (PhysicsWallah), India’s top affordable and accessible ed-tech platform, has acquihired ed-tech startup FreeCo to enhance its existing services and provide better learning experiences to students with more advanced features added to the PW platform.

As part of this development, the team at PW and FreeCo will work together on the content library, ensure efficient resource & doubt faculty management, and provide students with accessible and affordable content in a seamless manner. The company plans on using the FreeCo team’s experience to innovate its existing doubt-solving offerings.

This is PW’s first announcement after becoming a unicorn with a $100 million fundraise in series A round from Westbridge and GSV Ventures at a valuation of USD 1.1 billion. Through this acquihiring, PW will employ 15 members from FreeCo. The simple idea behind this move is to make education more accessible while minimizing the difficulty for students, helping them ace competitive exams.

 PW has already forayed into the offline space by launching ‘PW Vidyapeeths’ in six places, including Kota and Delhi, and plans to open more such centres. It also has hybrid classes, aka Pathshalas, in 22 cities across India, and has covered over 10 lakh learners. The company aims to improve the learning outcomes of over 250 million students by 2025.

FreeCo is a doubt-solving and resource management company in the ed-tech space. The platform aims to provide content services, including text solutions, online tutoring, pen tab video solutions, interactive panel video solutions, and textbook solutions using automation to help students and enhance their learning experience.

 The startup has also worked for edtech companies like Byjus, Unacademy, Brainly, Doubtnut, Toppr, Acadecraft, Numerade, and Melvano.Prashant Soni, Nikhil Chaudhary & Ramavtar Chhaba, Directors of FreeCo, said, “We have always been a big fan of PW’s work in the student space.
