Paradip Port Authority observes National Fire Service Day

Paradip, April 14: The Paradip Port Authority (PPA) CISF Fire Wing observed the National Fire Service Day to pay homage to the brave Firemen and Officers who lost their lives in Bombay Dock Explosion on April 14, 1944 and on subsequent occasions at the Main Fire Station (PPA).

A massive Fire Safety Awareness Drive is being undertaken w.e.f. 3rd April to 20th  April so as to educate the Port Workers and stakeholder about Fire Hazard, Fire Prevention and Firefighting. The theme for the year 2023 is:

“Awareness in Fire Safety for Growth of National Infrastructure (AGNI)”

The opening ceremony of National Fire Service Day was held at the Main Fire Station. PPA Chairman Shri P L Haranadh was Chief Guest on the occasion. Addressing the gathering he stressed on creating awareness among for school children and local public. He further stated that due to their dedication and devotion to duty, CISF is now the most sought after security organisation in the Country. CISF personnel must conduct regular training and mock-drills to be well prepared for any kind of eventuality. Fire management must be the responsibility of all the stakeholders so that during Emergencies, we can tackle without loss of property and lives.

CISF Commandant Shri Akshat Patel welcomed the invitees and Deputy Commandant Shri Bishnu Swarup presented the annual report. A live Fire Obstacle Drill was shown on the occasion which followed by Mass Fire Safety Awareness and Sensitization Rally comprising Fire Tenders, Motor Cycle Fleet with informative banners and Marathon and Cyclothon performers. The Rally was flagged off by Chairman (PPA) which passed through Badpadi Market, Bank Street and Administrative Building. Briefing of Fire Equipments was carried out for visitors at Display Point Main Fire Station.
