Northeast Region will provide a boost to India’s growth in years ahead: Mr Subhrakant Panda

Bhubaneswar , July 13: The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), India’s oldest apex chamber established in 1927, held the first ever National Executive Committee Meeting (NECM) in the North East at Guwahati, Assam.
Dr HimantaBiswa Sarma, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam, addressed the members and highlighted the State’s growth through massive investment in infrastructure and a proactive, transparent approach to governance.
MrSubhrakant Panda, President of FICCI, said North East Region has abundant resources and will provide a boost to India’s growth in the years ahead. Assam in particular is the largest economy in the region and also the most populous State; it has been growing at a rapid pace, boosted by large expenditure on physical and digital connectivity.
Business leaders from across India and H.E. Hiroshi Suzuki, Japan’s Ambassador to India, travelled to Guwahati on this occasion which included a session Connecting India’s North East to the World as well as a visit to IIT-Guwahati as part of industry-academia engagement.
