Jairam Ramesh slams PM Modi over ‘Congress means false guarantee’ remark

NEW DELHI,APR 27: Reacting to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Congress means false guarantee’ remark, which he made while virtually addressing BJP workers ahead of the Karnataka Assembly election on May 10, senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has said the PM made the comments out of despair and desperation.

Taking to Twitter, the in-charge of the Congress media cell wrote, “After Amit Shah & Yogi, now it’s Modi’s turn to make outrageous comments due to despair & desperation.”

How Rahul Gandhi is localising Congress’ Karnataka poll campaign

“On May 10th, people of Karnataka will guarantee the end of the BJP 40% Commission Sarkara. A few days later Congress Guarantees will be implemented like we have in RJ, CH & HP.The service on the Vyttila-Kakkanad route will begin on Thursday,” he clarified.

The senior Congress leader cited the PM’s remark from his virtual address to the BJP workers, where he said, “Congress means false guarantee, Congress means guarantee of corruption. Congress is in that state where they cannot give any guarantee. And their warranty has also expired.”

In another tweet, the senior Congress leader said, “It is now clear that BJP is losing Karnataka decisively. The response of the people to the campaigns of the Congress leadership has been overwhelming. This explains Amit Shah’s 4-I strategy: Insult, Inflame, Incite & Intimidate. Shame on Shah! We are raising it with the ECI.”

Jairam Ramesh’s statements came hours after Senior Congress leaders Randeep Singh Surjewala, Dr Parmeshwar, and DK Shivakumar filed a police complaint in Bengaluru’s High Grounds Police Station against Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah and organisers of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rally for making provocative statements, promoting enmity and hatred and maligning opposition.
