Bhubaneswar, Nov 22: National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Union Ministry of Mines, has created history by achieving its highest-ever net profit and revenue from operations in FY 25.
According to the audited financial results approved by the Board of Directors at its meeting held on Wednesday, NALCO posted a record net profit of Rs 5,325 crore for FY 25 — reflecting an impressive 158 per cent increase over the previous financial year. The company also clocked its highest-ever revenue from operations at Rs 16,788 crore during the same period.
The fourth quarter performance further underscored the company’s stellar growth trajectory, with net profit surging to Rs 2,078 crore — a 105 per cent rise from Rs 1,016 crore recorded in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Revenue from operations for the quarter stood at Rs 5,268 crore, compared to Rs 3,579 crore in the year-ago period.
This exceptional financial performance was fuelled by buoyant alumina and aluminium prices, operational efficiencies, and steady progress in strategic expansion projects. NALCO also reported record operational achievements in FY 25, including its highest-ever bauxite excavation of 76.48 lakh tonnes and domestic metal sales of 4.55 lakh tonnes.
Lauding the company’s outstanding performance, Brijendra Pratap Singh, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, said, “Our growth gathered significant momentum in the third and fourth quarters of FY 25, as clearly reflected in our strong financial results. Enhanced efficiency, cost optimisation, and the steadfast dedication of our workforce have enabled NALCO to maintain its competitive edge in a dynamic market.”
With aluminium prices remaining firm and demand on an upward trend, NALCO is well-positioned to sustain its growth momentum. The company’s strategic projects — including the 5th stream expansion of its Alumina Refinery, operationalisation of the Pottangi Bauxite Mines, and proposed capacity additions at its Smelter Plant and Captive Power Plant — are set to further fortify its standing in the global aluminium industry.
