Meet 19-year-old Nandini Gupta from Rajasthan, the newly crowned Miss India 2023
Rajasthan,Apr 16 : Nandini Gupta from Rajasthan’s Kota was crowned Femina Miss India 2023. Nandini was bestowed with the coveted title at the grand finale ceremony held on April 15. The 59th edition of India’s most prestigious beauty pageant was held at the Indoor Stadium, Khuman Lampak, Imphal, Manipur.
The 19-year-old from Kota, Rajasthan dreamt of being Miss India since she was 10. According to her bio on the official website, Nandini completed her schooling at St. Paul’s Senior Secondary School. Currently, she is studying business management at Lala Lajpat Rai College.
“The most influential person in my life is Sir Ratan Tata, the man who does everything for humanity and donates most of it to charity. Loved by millions and always grounded,” Nandini mentioned in an interview with the pageant.
Along with Ratan Tata, Nandini also spoke about how Priyanka Chopra inspired her to embark on the Miss India pageant journey. “Miss World 2000 Priyanka Chopra, who received the national title at a very young age, likewise she made India proud at the National and International level. She gave back to society and excelled as an actor. She inspires people, has a great sense of humour and has the zeal to gain more as she grows,” she said.
The Femina Miss India 20223 was a star-studded affair and celebs like Ananya Pandey and Kartik Aaryan gave power-packed performances. The event was hosted by Bhumi Pednekar and Maniesh Paul.
The state winners were judged by an elite panel consisting of Femina Miss India Universe 2002 & Mentor Neha Dhupia, boxing icon Laishram Sarita Devi, ace choreographer Terence Lewis, film director & writer Harshavardhan Kulkarni and distinguished designers Rocky Star and Namrata Joshipura.
Nandini Gupta will represent India at the 71st edition of the Miss World pageant in the United Arab Emirates.
The first and second runner-ups in the coveted beauty pageant were Delhi’s Shreya Poonja and Manipur’s Thounaojam Strela Luwang respectively.
