An Enabling Act: JSW’s Udan scholarship benefits local students

New Delhi/ Paradip, May 18: JSW awarded Udan scholarship to the meritorious students from three panchayats of Paradip proposed plant area.
The scholarship was awarded to the students who are pursuing courses including ITI, diploma courses, and others.
Around 94 deserving students received same scholarship during 2022-23 financial year. Out of which, 70 of them are from three local panchayats, while others are from Paradeep and other surrounding panchayats.
This scholarship is specifically given to students pursuing various higher education and professional education such as ITI, Diploma, BTech, MBA, MCA, and so on. Each of these students has been awarded a scholarship based on their merit.
This year, a total of Rs 24.52 lakh has been disbursed under this scholarship. The Foundation has set target to provide about Rs 40 lakh of scholarship in this fiscal. Scholarship amount was deposited to their respective accounts on May 15, 2023.
Purnima Sahu and Ananya Das, B.Tech students from the surrounding area, expressed their joy after receiving it and are more motivated to succeed.
Local students like Biswajit Ojha, Shrabanee Prusty, Prithwiraj Lenka, Swaraj Swain, and Biswa Bismaya Tamil Pradhan are encouraged after the initiative and they feel it will boost their morale.
As a part of community development, JSW also recently provided financial assistance to the meritorious students who achieved highest grades in high school exams.
JSW is actively involved in development initiatives like in Mo School Abhiyan, Mo College Abhiyan, beautification of Anganwadis, construction of stadium, lighting, providing sports equipment, providing cold drinking water machine, and others.
