‘Jai Siya Ram’: How Union Minister welcomed Rishi Sunak at airport for G20
NEW DELHI,SEPT 8 : Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey on Friday greeted British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty with “Jai Siya Ram” at Palam Airport, where they had landed to participate in the 18th G20 Summit.
Ashwini Kumar Choubey also presented Rudraksh, a copy of Bhagavad Geeta and Hanuman Chalisa to the Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty.
Earlier, during his flight to New Delhi, Rishi Sunak told media reporters that his visit to India is “obviously special”.

He also joked about being addressed as the “son-in-law” in India as he is the first British Prime Minister of Indian origin and is married to Akshata Murty, daughter of Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy.
Before embarking on his visit, Rishi Sunak also tweeted and said, “I’m heading to the G20 Summit with a clear focus. Stabilising the global economy. Building international relationships. Supporting the most vulnerable,”
Rishi Sunak will also hold a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his three-day visit to India,
The 18th G20 Summit will be held from September 9 to 10 at the newly built international convention and exhibition centre — Bharat Mandapam — at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.
The summit is likely to be attended by more than 30 heads of state and top officials from the European Union and invited guest countries and 14 heads of international organisations.
